I’ve been learning Italian with Paola for over seven months. Learning a language from a native speaker is excellent, not only for a solid understanding of the grammar and pronunciation but also for learning Italian as it is actually used and spoken. Paola’s lessons are relevant and interesting, with lots of spoken Italian practice. Lesson levels are set to suit my experience and ability, so that learning is at my pace. Paola uses a number of different resources, during lessons and for home practice, which adds to the interest. Paola is patient, always happy to answer questions and to discuss different topics. I can read, speak and write Italian with much more confidence now, and am really enjoying the lessons. I can’t watch Inspector Montalbano without the subtitles yet, but one day I might!

I have worked with Paola since Dec 2019. I am a basic/intermediate French speaker and I was looking for a tutor who could help me improve my language skills for speaking with friends, as well as for my academic research. Paola has taken a methodical approach to address my faults while also boosting my confidence. Paola is a very good and professional French teacher. She adapts the lessons to your level and desired output and is always very organised and patient. I have been taking French lesson with Paola for three years, at level B1. Enjoying the lessons very much with lots of relevant backup material for homework. I am learning Italian for pleasure and have been taking on-line classes for over a year and find them very convenient as they suit my lifestyle. I find the on-line interaction is good and don't feel disadvantaged from not being in the same room with a teacher. Additional learning material is sent by e-mail which helps consolidate each subject and enhances the learning procedure. I feel I have achieved a lot in the time I have been studying on-line from previously trying to study by myself. I feel Paola has definitely started at the very beginning of learning French with me, both with grammar and everyday conversation; already I feel able to introduce myself/greet someone, order coffee, wine, etc in a cafe, ask directions, go to the shops and have bit of a chat. I’ve been learning Italian for a few years with Paola who teaches in a very engaging way and uses lots of different resources. Paola has been great at helping me with my confidence speaking French and the exercises she sets out are interesting and cover a variety of topics which I find great for expanding my vocabulary.
